Holiday Dinner
a poem
by Karen R. Sanderson
Chicken runs round the farm yard,
Wishes he was the duck.
Duck runs round the barn yard,
Wishes he was the pig.
Pig runs round the pig sty,
Wishes he was the horse.
Horse smiles, relaxes in stall.
Thanksgiving Day, he’ll mourn them all.
A little sardonic wit for the holidays! 🙂
Happy Thanksgiving!
Yep, my strongest suit I think. Happy Thanksgiving to you!
Gobble, gobble!
Cute! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, Karen!
Thanks, Karoline. We had a great day at the kids’ house. Best thing? Family!
Thanks for this little poem. Enjoy your Thanksgiving Karen!!
Thank you, Darlene. I enjoyed it immensely! Hope you enjoyed your day, too.
I’ve seen that one before me thinks. Love it all over again. Happy Thanksgiving CK. Hope you and and your beautiful family are well. Take care.
Yes, you have. I think I may have posted it last year for Christmas. Happy Thanksgiving to you too, Paulie!
Indeed! Gives a whole new twist to the game “Duck, Duck, Goose.”
Love your wit!
Thanks, E! Actually, I sort of love my wit, too. It comes from my Mom’s side of the family. 🙂
Infinitely clever, Karen!
Thanks, Denise!
Clever! Happy holiday to you Karen.
Thanks, J.j. Happy holiday to you, too!
Loved it. Wish I’d seen it before the kids left.
Thank you for commenting, AOK. Feel free to print and send to the kids!
This is great, thanks for posting.
Thanks, Mickey. Works just as well in December if you substitute “Christmas Day” for “Thanksgiving Day.”
