On Commission

Because of encouragement from a dear friend (thank you, Elizabeth), I’ve decided to offer art on commission.

Is there a childhood home, favorite barn, or special haunt you wish immortalized in a way a photograph will just not do?

I will do my utmost to replicate and represent your house, barn, door, or other structure to the best of my abilities. Remember, it’s not a photo, it is my rendering. Colors may not match exactly.

I work in pencil and watercolor.

Commissions may take weeks or longer to complete, depending on size and complexity. You get the original. I reserve the right to take photos of the finished piece and share on this blog and my social networking. I will never sell a reproduction of your commission without express permission from you.

Price depends on size and medium.

Email me at karenrsanderson@midco.net for more info.

Examples of my finished pieces:

Rustic
I took an image I found on the internet and made it my own.
It is available in prints. See my “Art Prints” page on this blog.
(From my personal collection.)

Castle Door
I was experiencing my Celtic awakening and researched Celtic crosses, knights, harps, swords, and medieval doors. I found an image on the internet, and then I made it my own.
I have a few notecards available if you are interested. Also available, one print. See my “Art Prints” page on this blog.
(From my personal collection.)

Shawn’s Barn
This isn’t actually Shawn MacKenzie’s barn. I just painted this random barn as a gift for her to commemorate publication of her Tarot of Dragons (available on Amazon and Llewelleyn). This was a “mini” – postcard size.
(From Shawn’s personal collection.)
Lansford Station
I did this sketch from a picture I saw in the No. 9 Mine and Museum in Lansford, Pennsylvania.
(From my personal collection.)
A little whimsy. I did this piece based on an image I saw on the internet. This piece is available in prints. See the “Art Prints” page on this blog.
(From my personal collection.)
Cool random house I saw in Lansford, Pennsylvania during my trip there in the early 2000s. I took a picture of the house, and then I sketched it.
(From my personal collection.)
This is Elizabeth’s barn in Virginia. She sent me numerous pictures, and I made this mini art. I sent this piece to her to congratulate and celebrate the publication of her first book, Heartspoken: How to write notes that connect, comfort, encourage, and inspire (available on Amazon).

Lansford Trolley
I did this sketch from a picture I saw in the No. 9 Mine and Museum in Lansford, Pennsylvania.
